What is columbine memorial?

The Columbine Memorial is a memorial located in Clement Park in Littleton, Colorado, dedicated to the victims of the Columbine High School massacre that took place on April 20, 1999. The memorial was designed by a team of architects, landscape architects, and artists led by Albuquerque-based architect and artist Kristin Wright and Colorado-based artist and landscape architect Lois Hoskins.

The memorial consists of a circle of 13 pillars, each representing one of the 12 students and 1 teacher who were killed in the shooting. The edges of the pillars are inscribed with quotes from the victims' families, friends, and teachers. In the center of the circle is a reflecting pool with water cascading down the sides, symbolizing the passage of time and the healing process.

The memorial also includes a ring of trees, one for each of the 13 victims, as well as a plaque inscribed with the names of all the victims. The Columbine Memorial serves as a place for reflection, remembrance, and healing for the community and visitors from around the world.
